Dreams

How to Interpret Your Dreams

Psychology: Dreams

What is dreaming? Dreaming is involuntary images, sensations, and emotions occurring during the stage of sleep. I've learned that some people even believe that dreams have meaning to them. For example, dreaming about something above is indicating you to set your goals higher. If you dream about having a crush on someone its believed you are under tremendous stress over making a decision.
Experiencing nightmares can be a psychological response to anxiety and stress. Usually the causes are of real experiences of being sad or having fear. Studies in the nineteenth century believed that people with aspen (lack of oxygen), would have more nightmares. But were proven wrong when results showed healthier people had more nightmares. So in reality everyone experiences dreams, if someone says they don't they simply don't remember.
Lucid dreaming is known as a way to control your own dreams. The concept is that in your dreams you know you are dreaming. What is so extraordinary about lucid dreaming is that you have the ability to do things you wouldn't normally be able to do, like to eat fire without getting harmed.
As to why we dream is still unknown to psychologist and scientist, but they still continue the study of their meanings. All humans dream, dreams are way to interpret our thoughts and emotions.
